Description |
| Nizy-le-Comte |
Bendredjeb illustrates two jars of form C262,
described as `pâte grossière,
rouge à dégraissant calcaire' (fabric MI 4) -
this may be a reference to the feldspars in TF1.
The type is here given a Tiberio-Claudian date.
|
| Villeneuve-Saint-Germain |
There is one example of a large jar of our class 1,
apparently in a dark coloured,
heavily micaceous fabric,
from this site.
(Site reference number : VSG 82.411.
The vessel has not been examined
and its identification as TF1 awaits confirmation.)
Fleury (1986, fig.3)
records Dressel 1a and 1b amphoras from the Villeneuve-Saint-Germain
(the latter the more common)
but occupation apparently closes before the appearance
of samian and other classes of Augustan fine wares.
A provisional
terminus ante quem
of
c.|30/20|BC
may be proposed.
