Typology
Cam 262
Description
Tuffreau-Libre
illustrates a jar of form C262 from Champlieu
in the Forêt de Compiègne,
described as `pâte fine orangée
à dégraissant non visible, bien cuite',
with a micaceous slip on the rim and shoulder.
This is clearly not TF1,
but a finer wheel-thrown ware.
Mme Tuffreau-Libre considers the vessel to be `local'
but the alternative of an origin amongst the industries of
Central Gaul could be considered.
