AGV: on B184,B185,B186
More varied than B181-B183 group.
Weathered but perhaps not far from source.
But although groups are distinct there is
not so much difference in the basic matrices.
B181-183: microcline granite, bmic
B184-186: chert, granite, quartz, red clay pellets
Need limestone area with granite for B184-B186 & B180
IF: (with B184, B185, B186)
Chert OK and altered feldspar
?haematite red clay pellets, altered graphic intergrowth
Quartz with chert material stuck to it?
Not volcanic, Polycrystalline quartz - sedimentary
agv: in addition to above
rounded granite
fine grained sandstone
no mica (or very occasional biotite)
look for sedimentary limestone with silicaceous inclusions
agv not convinced of chert
agv says cf B222 (Tours) |
